Annual Sponsor Spotlight: Strategic Property Partners (SPP)

April 7, 2022

In this month’s CREW Tampa Bay Spotlight series, we are featuring one of our Platinum Annual Sponsors, Strategic Property Partners (SPP), and three of its young and innovative leaders who represent this dynamic company.  SPP is a full-service commercial real estate development firm focused on world-class execution with leading-edge coordination, resulting in high quality and experiential places.  SPP is currently developing a vibrant vision for the future of downtown with a major urban project called Water Street Tampa.  Water Street Tampa embraces wellbeing and outdoor living along an accessible waterfront with walkable streets connecting homes, offices, entertainment venues, retail shops, and hotels.  SPP became a Platinum Annual Sponsor for CREW Tampa Bay to continue and enhance their support for women in commercial real estate.  SPP is aligned with the same goals as CREW and fully believes in supporting CREW’s immense, professional networking group.

Meet Mary-Kate (MK) Michalak.  MK is the Manager of Corporate Leasing & Strategy and has been with SPP for three and a half years.  Born and raised in Tampa, and an Academy of the Holy Names graduate, MK has a passion for economic development, the strategic growth of Tampa, and facilitating human connection in relation to the surrounding built environment.  MK is the lead office leasing agent for the leasing of Thousand & One and Sparkman Wharf in Water Street Tampa.  She works closely with the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council and delivers presentations to recruit various companies to relocate or expand within Florida.  She is all about the strategic growth and economic development of the Tampa Bay area.  MK has been a member of CREW for about a year and participated on the Excellence Awards Committee.  She has a passion for holistic health and wellness and grew up as a skate, skim and surf boarder.  In her spare time, MK truly enjoys outdoor exercise, walking her dog Lily, reading books, and learning and practicing two languages: Norwegian and Spanish.

Meet Jenn Regan.  Jenn is a Senior Analyst on the Development Team and has been with SPP for over three years.  She came to the firm with experience in commercial real estate and property management.  As a Senior Analyst, Jenn touches on everything within her projects including design, construction, coordination, financials, and asset management, and she oversees these projects from start to finish.  Jenn’s SPP teammates admire the organizational skills she demonstrates, and she takes a lot of pride in her work.  Recently completing her second major residential project, Jenn truly enjoys when everything comes together, exemplifying the positive impact on the community these developments serve.  Born and raised in Tampa, Jenn says her mom has been a phenomenal inspiration in her life.   And now Jenn has recently become a new mom to a beautiful baby girl.  Jenn joined CREW this year and is looking forward to getting more involved.

Meet Nicole Howard.  Nicole is an Analyst on the Development Team and has been with SPP for over two and a half years.  She was project lead on Cora, Water Street Tampa’s second collection of apartment homes.  Nicole loves being involved in every facet of bringing the project to life, from working with the architects, contractors, and designers to setting up the management team for operations.  She especially loves interior design and anything creative.  Her background is in luxury single family homes, specifically kitchens and baths.  Born in Hawaii and raised in Jacksonville, Nicole moved to Tampa seven years ago to open and operate a new business.  She is enjoying living in and helping to improve the Tampa footprint.  Nicole likes a challenge and began playing tennis two years ago.  She is now learning golf, French and Spanish.  As a recent CREW Tampa Bay member, Nicole enjoys meeting new people, networking, and volunteering beside like-minded industry leaders.

SPP is a young, local development firm born in 2014, and the company is continually supplying the tools to nurture their young talent.  MK, Jenn, and Nicole feel like they are a part of something large, and they wear many hats within their company.  More than half of SPP’s current team is made up of women in commercial real estate who are helping to shape the future of SPP with their innovative ideas on various levels.  These women are bringing a personal side to development by putting faces to names on their iconic projects and by representing SPP as a sponsoring firm within CREW Tampa Bay.
