Annual Sponsor Spotlight: Robyn Coppola, Pam Randles, Don Newman & Vari®

February 23, 2022
In this month’s CREW Tampa Bay Spotlight series, we’d like to introduce you to Vari® and three of its amazing team members. Formerly known as VARIDESK, LLC, Vari® is a workspace innovation company that helps elevate growing organizations to their potential by providing working environments that fully meet the needs of their people. Vari® started with an innovative idea: The Converter. This product transformed pretty much any desk into a sit/stand workstation—a real “game changer!” Now their product lines include electric standing desks, conference tables, lights, moveable walls, seating, storage and more. The success of this young company has been built on three pillars: speed, simplicity, and flexibility. Their products are in stock and readily available for fast deliveries, simple to use, and flexible enough to expand as companies grow. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, and with over 400 employees worldwide (76% of them being under 35 years of age), Vari® caters to their employees’ needs and offers phenomenal benefits. The company focuses on giving back to their communities and supports team members doing so as well. Vari® is the 2022 CREW Tampa Bay Grand Benefactor Annual Sponsor.

Meet Robyn Coppola. Robyn is CREW Tampa Bay’s 2022 President, and she has over 20 years’ experience in the commercial office furniture market. Due to COVID, Robyn was forced to make a career change to a different industry, but it wasn’t long before she opted to come back to her “roots” in the commercial office furniture realm. Her “roots” go deep. In fact, Robyn’s mom and dad met while working for a commercial office furniture company, and collectively Robyn and her family members have over 90 years’ experience in the business! After that short stent away, Robyn was drawn to return to the industry. She had not previously worked for a manufacturer, so joining the Vari® team was unchartered waters. Luckily, she decided to jump in! Robyn has now been a Sales Executive with Vari® for nearly a year and has enjoyed all aspects of this young, growing company. It was meant to be! Robyn devotes a lot of her time volunteering for CREW Tampa Bay, and she enjoys working for a company that supports the local communities.

Meet Pam Randles. Pam was formerly a recruiter for various companies within the commercial interiors market, and she has truly grown up in the commercial furniture industry. Pam’s recruiting career was also affected by the COVID pandemic, and it was necessary to make a change. Pam learned about Vari® early on, and she was impressed by their growth, their community involvement, their company culture, and especially by their servant leadership philosophies. When a Regional Sales Director position became available with Vari®, Pam decided to pursue the opportunity, and over a year ago, she opened the Vari® Tampa Showroom. In addition to volunteering with CREW Tampa Bay, Pam gives back by serving as Secretary of the Executive Board and Marketing for the Warrick Dunn Charities, Inc. As stated in their website, Warrick Dunn Charities, Inc. is an organization that empowers families to break the cycle of poverty and achieve a better quality of life. In February, the charity will have turned their 200th house into a home for single-parent families.

Meet Don Newman. Don joined CREW Tampa Bay with about 15 years of local experience in the commercial furniture industry. Working with his previous company, he represented various office furniture brands and brands within brands. Like Robyn, joining Vari®, a manufacturing company, was a big change from Don’s previous sales setting. Don was attracted to Vari® because of the company culture, the “open door” feeling, and the high-level products the company produces. He loved how everything seemed “simple and fun,” and he knew he could be authentic and in his own element as a Vari® team member. Don was also impressed by the company’s servant leadership philosophies. From an early age, Don has been giving back to his community. He volunteered alongside his parents with the Lion’s Club, and he continued service leadership throughout his career in the Boy Scouts of America where he ultimately earned the highest achievement of Eagle Scout.

These three veterans in the industry work very well together. They say as Vari® team members, they are more like true family rather than co-workers.
